Dr Sam Parrett CBE DL
Group Principal and CEO
Dr Sam Parrett CBE DL is an experienced CEO and Principal, whose drive and determination to improve education across London and South East England has resulted in the expansion of high-quality pathways and outcomes for learners across mainstream, special, further, higher, adult and apprenticeship education. She was appointed as a National Leader of Further Education in 2020 and coaches new and aspiring CEOs in the sector.
Since being appointed as Principal of Bromley College in 2010, she led a merger with Orpington College, Bexley College and Greenwich Community College to form London South East Colleges in 2016. Sam also established London South East Academies Trust in 2013 – a growing MAT across primary, secondary, Alternative Provision and Special in South London, Kent, Sussex and Surrey.

Matt Jones is a Senior Manager at PwC and a technology leader with more than 20 years of experience delivering change across complex IT estates. In his current role as a Technology Business Partner within PwC's Tech Catalyst division, Matt works at the intersection of business needs and emerging technology, helping teams identify practical opportunities for innovation and improved client outcomes.
Matt previously led Business Relationship Management in the Office of the CTO, where he supported strategic alignment between technology functions and wider organisational priorities. A significant theme in his career has been the responsible application of machine learning, with particular emphasis on natural language understanding and conversational AI. As a product manager and delivery lead, Matt helped launch production chatbot capabilities in Google Chat, translating user needs into clear roadmaps, measurable outcomes, and operationally resilient services.
Before joining PwC, Matt held roles at Fujitsu Services and Tata Consultancy Services, building a broad foundation across enterprise platforms, service management, and stakeholder leadership. Matt also brings more than 16 years of experience leading IT operations teams, with a focus on stability, continuous improvement, and developing high-performing, customer-centred teams.
Beyond professional responsibilities, Matt volunteers as a Scout Leader, reflecting a commitment to community service and youth development. Matt holds a BSc in Computer Systems and an MSc in Electronic Engineering from Bangor University.


Adam Marley began his career in 2000 as an apprentice bricklayer, attending Bromley College one day per week for two years and achieving City & Guilds with Distinction. During the apprenticeship, Adam developed broad practical experience across multiple trades and progressed to assistant site manager at a young age, building early capability in supervision, quality, and programme delivery.
After gaining further exposure to contract and project management, Adam established an independent business in 2008 as a principal contractor and pursued degree-level professional development alongside commercial growth. Over time, Adam achieved an NVQ Level 7 Diploma in Construction Senior Management and gained professional recognition including Chartered Construction Manager (CIOB), Chartered Building Engineer, Chartered Clerk of Works, Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as a Building Surveyor, and Fellow of the Association of Quality Professionals. Adam was later elected a Fellow of the CIOB, reflecting sustained contribution and expertise at a senior level.
From an initial start with a van and a single-person operation, Adam built a successful contractor that grew to a reported turnover of £15m in 2022. Adam sold the business in 2022 and joined Ensigna Construction Ltd, with a brief focused on scaling the organisation beyond a stable history in refurbishment. Over the following years, Adam helped Ensigna expand into larger new-build projects and additional sectors, relocate to a new head office, open two regional offices, increase revenue significantly, and grow staff numbers by 300%.
As Managing Director, Adam champions training and inclusion within the company and across the wider community, with a particular commitment to investing in young people, sustainability, and long-term capability building. Adam also maintains a strong focus on developing the next generation through continued support for Elevare Civic Education Group and other learning trusts.


Helen McIntosh has served three terms of two years each as President of the Southeast London Chamber of Commerce and was asked by the Board to remain in position for a further year. Helen is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and prior to her election as President of the Chamber, she was an active member of the Greater London Group, the largest group within the CIPR. She has worked in public affairs locally for over 30 years with a range of clients which have included the Greenwich Foundation, Cathedral Group and Landsec. She represents this regeneration group on the Chamber's Board. Helen was made a College Fellow 2023 of London South East Colleges in recognition of significant support provided as a strategic partner of the College in influencing the skills agenda in South East London.


Neil Miller is the Deputy CEO of Academies with operational accountability for all the schools within the Trust.
He was a senior leader in secondary mainstream education for many years, including Headship, before joining the Trust as Executive Headteacher six years ago. Neil has a real passion for working with learners, with his expectations for each and every one being extremely high. This is achieved with a forensic focus on a quality-first learning experience, so students are able to grow both academically and emotionally, becoming purposeful young adults.
Neil has a real expertise in leadership and has gained his NPQEL. Relationships with staff teams are key to Neil, and ensuring the Trust can get the very best from everyone is important.


Prior to her current role, Jennifer was the Group Executive Director of Corporate Services, with strategic and operational management of key Group Corporate Services areas of IT, HR, MIS, Funding, Planning and Performance, Exams, and administration services.
She has strong and proven governance, legal, project strategic planning, and change management skills. She has led and delivered on governance, educational, curriculum, customer, and information systems projects, including college mergers, business acquisitions, and business process re-engineering.
She has significant management experience in both the public and private sectors with a career portfolio providing insight and knowledge of operational and strategic business and resource planning in most business services areas. Her career began in legal and company secretarial, transferring to the investment banking and financial services sectors where she worked for approximately 20 years.
Jenny retrained as a Business and IT Teacher in 2001 and started her career in the FE Sector, progressing into a senior management role in Further Education. Since her move into the Governance Professional role for the Group, Jenny has achieved qualification status in the ICSA Diploma in Academies Governance, the NGA Clerking Certificate and the IoD Governance Professional Leadership Programme. She is the Group Data Protection Officer for London South East Education Group.


As the deputy CEO and principal, Asfa has over two decades of transformational and inclusive leadership across further and higher Education. She has consistently delivered improved learner outcomes, aligned education with the skills and employment agenda, led successful Ofsted inspections and strategic curriculum reforms.
Asfa’s leadership has secured national recognition through prestigious kitemarks and accreditations. She has built strong employer and community partnerships that have enhanced both institutional reputation and revenue, particularly in advancing the skills and employment agenda.
She has led complex change management initiatives, including the demerger and merger of colleges and moved institutions from ‘requires improvement’ to ‘good’ within tight timelines. Her strategic vision and operational acumen have been instrumental in delivering sustainable improvements.
Asfa is passionate about leadership development, having designed frameworks that empower emerging leaders and foster cultures of high performance and inclusion. Asfa’s national influence is reflected in her active roles with various initiatives and leading aspects at national level.
